You never thought you would be in this situation. You traveled the world in your youth, everywhere from the steps of the Taj Mahal in the east to those of Machu Picchu in the West. You have always assumed that everyone knew all about these places. You picked up bits and pieces of eleven different languages. First, they will probably be curious enough on hearing a different language to ask what language it is and possibly where it is spoken. Secondly, you most likely will discover a program which they really want to understand. At this point, you may need to look into language classes for beginners. You will have achieved your goal to stimulate their interest beyond their home.

The fact is, television is often blamed for making our minds into mush and turning us into sheep. In truth, television has a lot to offer. They will have access to all sorts of information including historical, cultural and linguistic, from all over the world. Television is only a tool – it’s what you do with it that counts.
